Call center agents with Open Roads Insurance. Most of these representatives are new to the workforce, in their early to mid twenties so they are unfamiliar with cyber attacks and phishing attempts. They work directly with the public, receiving both calls and emails from customers. Some of these emails have pictures or other media attached to them, and the representatives need to be able to distinguish between real emails/attachments and phishing attempts.
Problem
The claims agents appear to be too trusting. Over 30% of agents open attachments from emails that should be flagged as phishing attempts.
Solution
Success for Open Roads Insurance is to reduce the amount of malware found on computers within the claims department from 33% to 10%.
After this training, the claims agents will be able to correctly identify 90% of phishing emails and report them appropriately.
Highlights
This training includes realistic scenarios, engaging interactions such as an accordions and click to reveal details, knowledge checks, and a scenario-based assessment.
Process
I used the ADDIE and SAM models while creating this course. I analyzed the learners' needs to create a Design Document that includes an outline of the course. From there, I created a Storyboard detailing the information to be included on each slide and how interactions will guide and engage learners. I directed the voice over actors and edited their audio in Adobe Audition.
The training was built in Articulate Storyline with some assets being created or imported from Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop. The finalized training would be published and implemented based on the learning management system (LMS) as a SCORM file.
Level 2 of Kirkpatrick is already included in this module in the form of a five question quiz that learners must pass to receive credit for the training. Each question assesses a different aspect of common phishing attempts to ensure the learner knows what or where to check for suspicious emails, attachments, and links.
After employees have taken the training, to employ Kirkpatrick's Level 3 Assessment, Open Roads Ins. will send out four fake phishing emails per month to ensure employees are reporting them as spam. There is a Job Aid to help employees remember what to look for in a Phishing Email. If employees fail these random tests twice within a calendar month, they will need to retake the training.

Lower and middle level managers at Now to Play (NTP). Most of the managers have worked their way up to their current position through the company, so they are familiar with the inner working of NTP, but the Change Management system is new to them.
Problem
NTP, a tech company, has several outdated processes that have not been updated in the past three years. The new owners have decided to use a new Change Management to implement the needed updates to NTP. Current managers need to be trained on the new Change Management strategy the new owners are implementing.
Solution
Managers will be able to help ease both old and new employees into the changes that will be implemented with new ownership. Managers will be able to reduce resistance to new workflows as well as help identify some roadblocks that may come into play from employees during the transitions.
Highlights
This training includes click to reveal interactions, matching scenarios, knowledge checks, and a final scenario-based assessment.
Process
For this training, I researched and analyzed the learner's needs as related to the implementation of Change Management within the company. Stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) were consulted after employees were surveyed to find where the knowledge gaps exist.
I used the ADDIE and SAM models to curate the content and create a Design Document in preparation of building the training module in Articulate Rise. I researched and found needed assets online, as well as creating some in both Canva and Adobe Photoshop.
The finalized training would be published in Now to Play's LMS and distributed to employees, adhering to any company guidelines or compliance frameworks, such as SCORM.
Kirkpatrick's Level 2 evaluation is included in the module as a five question scenario based quiz. Users will need to pass this final quiz in order to receive credit for the training.
